This past weekend we escaped the crowded streets in Hong Kong and took a ferry ride to Lamma Island.
Lamma island is a traditional fishing island that a group of students decided to take a hike around the island to the beach. I'm not much of a outdoor person, but I figure that this may be my last time in Hong Kong and I need to do everything I can! Also it's been about 95 degrees everyday since I've been here, so a beach sounded amazing!
As a small group of us went through the hike, I was really taken away that many locals lived on this small island. The contrast between the lifestyle of those that live on the main islands to those that live on the smaller islands were so different. The beautiful landscapes are something I have never seen as I've traveled to many different countries.
When we arrived at the beach, the vivid colors were amazing as the sun set. Unfortunately, the amount of trash in the water and beach made it not possible for me the dive into the water.
Aside from that, if you ever end up on Lamma Island take advantage of the great food and beautiful scenery if you want to escape the city for a couple of hours.
